Reimagining and
Co-Designing Hope

The Rohingya are one of the most persecuted yet simultaneously invisible communities across the globe, with millions of them living across South and Southeast Asia as stateless refugees with little agency over the way their lives are represented and remembered.

Roemah Inspirit along with Southeast Asian Studies and Human Rights Network (SEAHRN), Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) Indonesia, Kait Nusantara with the support of Conflict and Resilience Research Institute Canada (CRRIC) designed a storytelling fellowship for and with Rohingya youth to directly tackle this politics of erasure by putting the narrative power in the hands of those most impacted by it.

From May to August 2026, this online storytelli g fellowshop creates a platform wherein Rohingya youth-fellows can work through their traumatic experiences, articulate their injustices, and narrate their lives as thinkers, caregivers, leaders–not merely as victims of genocide and statelessness.
